We have had an appeal for information about the ‘Committee of the Linchitzer Benevolent Society’, which was known to exist at least in 1938 and which may have had some links to the New Road synagogue in Mile End.
Shlomo Joseph Rozental, who contacted us, is working on tracing his family. Parents of his cousin were given a pair of candlesticks for their wedding carrying the above inscription, which he hopes could be a clue as to the town in Poland from which his family came.
He would be grateful for any help. You can email him at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
