We have a fascinating guided walk on Sunday November 21 commemorating the great East End war poet and artist Isaac Rosenberg. The date is the closest Sunday to the anniversary of his birth in 1890.
Hopes that that anniversary would see the unveiling of the proposed bust of Isaac Rosenberg have had to be abandoned because of a failure to secure a suitable site. East End expert and Jewish East End Celebration Society founder Clive Bettington, who will lead the walk, is following various leads and is hopeful that everything will be in place for April 1, 2022, the anniversary of his death on the Western Front in 1918.
The walk details are as follows:
Walk: The Whitechapel of Isaac Rosenberg
Meeting place: Aldgate tube. Time: 11 am on Sunday November 21.
Cost: £12. All proceeds to the Rosenberg statue fund.
